Meals at Armscare

As a valued resident, your happiness is important to us here at ARMSCARE. We will pack your time full of entertaining and interesting things, so that you may have a long and pleasant stay. To get a better understanding of what you should expect from an ARMSCARE home please continue reading.

We offer an excellent range of tasty nutritionally balanced meals from our ever-changing menu. You won’t grow tired of the same old thing at our care homes. Whatever your dietary demands may be, at ARMSCARE they will be met.

Activities and Events 

All homes ensure that they arrange a variety of different activities that meet the needs of all the residents in the homes. Our Activities Co-ordinator, Shelly Ross is an extrovert character who knows how to entertain & stimulate all of our residents. Shelly works with the Managers to arrange a whole host of activities throughout the week.

 

In-house activities arranged such as:

Art & Crafts. These vary around different themes such as Christmas, Halloween, National Occasions  (such as Royal Weddings, Olympics etc), Valentine’s Day, Seasons, or any current event. etc

Reminiscence. Looking at old pictures and discussing them either in groups or with individuals

 

Music & Singing. Playing music & singing songs that everyone can join in with.

 

Nail Painting. One for the Ladies!

 

Hand massaging. It’s amazing how people enjoy a little light physical contact

 

One to one time. Just a little time talking to people on their own

 

Dancing. Everyone enjoys getting up for a little dance to their favourite music!

 

Cooking. Anyone who enjoys the kitchen is encouraged to bake a cake or two!

 

Gardening. When the weather is right, its great to get outdoors & do a little planting.

 

Games. We have a whole host of board games and regular bingo sessions

 

Armchair Exercises. Anything to get people moving & improve their circulation.

 

Picking Apples – From our own orchard at Summerville House

 

Feeding the Horses – We have a field with Ponies for those that like horses.

We also have a host of external entertainers who come into the home to specialise in providing activities & entertainment for the elderly:

 

Extend – Exercise for the Elderly

 

AIM Productions – seasonal pantomimes at Christmas, Easter, & Summer.

 

Sporting Chance – Armchair sports adapted for those with restricted mobility

 

Hair Dressing. Both the ladies & Gents enjoy being pampered by our visiting hairdressers.

 

Chiropody. A necessity as well as an activity.

Day Trips & Outings

Homes also regularly arrange day trips & Outings for their residents either on a one to one basis or in small groups. Examples have been:

 

Tours around the Lavender Fields

 

Trips to the small animal farm

 

Tour around the Hunstanton Lifeboat Station

 

Local Tea Dances

 

Local Garden Centres

 

Walks along the Hunstanton Promenade
